(速報) EPOがSEPに関するデータ分析レポートを発表 EPO's SEP Report announced

EPO(欧州特許庁）はSDO（標準規格策定機関）と20年以上にわたり協力して、

550万件以上の標準化文書をPrior Art(先行技術文献）として収集してきたが、この度、約19万件の特許出願データを分析し、SDO文書の引用状況を可視化した新データセットを公開した。SEPとSDO文書(17万件）とが紐付けされた。

両者の関連性は高く、今後の技術動向の予測にも活用可能であることを示した。

EPOは今回のレポートで、UPC(統一特許裁判所）による新しい紛争解決が実績を積み重ねていることも分析しており、法的確実性と効率の向上がみられていることをデータで示している。

• わずか創設後2年のUPCで23件のSEP関連の紛争が提起されており、2023年半ばの立ち上げ以来、年間平均13件以上のケースが扱われている

STANDARDS AND THE EUROPEAN PATENT SYSTEM

The vertical and horizontal patterns also reveal intense cross-citations among leading firms, reflecting technological interdependence. This highlights the key role certain companies play in both contributing to and building upon standardisation efforts.
